Building relationships,
opening the lines of compassionate
communication between humans and their equines...

What is Natural Horsemanship? The term "natural horsemanship" is thrown around so much these days that it's hard to know whether or not what is sometimes called Natural Horsemanship is what you are looking for, for you or your horse. Though we don't consider our Horsemanship to be "natural", many people do because of our gentle and understanding approach to training.
To help you understand what Horsemanship means to us:
Horsemanship from the Heart™ considers the nature of the horse and work with it to produce an outcome that is acceptable and comfortable for horse, owner and trainer. Horses come equipt with a set of rules and instincts that are vital to being a horse. Trying not to train these out of the horse but rather work with them, understand them and cater to them, Horsemanship from the Heart™ students learn what is most importand to the horse: leadership, boundaries, security and patience, and find each individal horses most efficient rout to success. Keeping play, trust, balance, patience, softness, flexibility, leadership, confidence, compassion and the energy and intention found within the 4 natural elements in mind, Horsemanship from the Heart™ works together with people and their horses to open up the lines of compassionate communication, allowing for a deeper relationship, stronger trust and an undeniable bond. We do not teach our horses to accept what we want them to -- we allow our horses to teach us the best path to success and provide confidence while expanding our horse's understanding of whatever it is we are working towards, whether it be starting, continuing, confidence building or troubleshooting. We are always careful to be respectful and conscious of the horse's experience and not just our own, throughout the processes of training and learning.

Horsemanship from the Heart™ considers the nature of the horse during the process of training. It is offered both to horses for Starting, Continuing, Confidence Building, Trouble Shooting and more, as well as to the human as an educational art. Christa believes that it is only effective to train the horse if the human also becomes a student. When a horse is handled in a consistant way, their behavior will reflect their handling. For this reason, Horsemanship from the Heart™ is designed for both horse and owner. We are focused toward building relationships, opening the lines of compassionate communication between humans and their equines.

About Christa: Christa Miremadi has been working with, on and around horses for as long as she can remember. Growing up in England she began an English riding career and moving to Canada at a young age she began to train with Georganne Mills (hunter/Jumper), Christen Hainze (dressage) and Rebecca Gurrard (dressage). After successfully competing in the show ring Christa found her true passion at a kids guest ranch in Rocky Mountain House Alberta, starting young horses and working the kinks out of the trail horses. She also enjoyed leading/guiding trail rides and out-trips in the back country. Working under some amazing horse trainers at that ranch, Christa developed a softness and feel that she now passes on to her students.

Returning to the Western show ring, Christa successfully competed in Western Pleasure and Reining with the guidance of Don Gibson. Christa no longer competes but continues her persuit of knowledge learning through clinics with trainers such as Jon Ensign, Heidi Potter, Ren Bannerman, Scott Depalo, Jonathan Feild, Mark Rashid and many more. Though she continues to attend clinics and learn from as many human teachers as she can, Christa strongly believes that her first and most valuable teacher is the horses themselves. "If we can learn to listen to what our horses are telling us, they have a welth of information that no human teacher has access to. Who better to teach us about how horses learn than the horses themselves". Christa also holds a CHA (certified horsemanship association) Level 3 certificate for teaching Western Horsemanship and a Level 1 certificate for teaching English Horsemanship. Christa provides her students, both equine and human with the knowledge, skill and understanding to aquire a deep and long lasting bond. Though we are training horses as well, it is the human who has the most leaning to do and the responsability to learn it in order to provide the horses with the security it's looking for.
