Christa Miremadi has been working with and around horses since the age of three.  She has had experience in both English and Western competitive riding as well as guiding trail rides and overnight out-tripping, ranch work, facility management and much more...  Now, a partner in the family business, Christa is facility manager and co-herdsperson, along with her husband, Amin (aka Pinto) , for more than 30 horses.

Christa holds certification in Equine Facility Management as well as being a Certified Instructor in both Western and English Horsemanship.  Though she still teaches riding lessons and continues to guide trail rides in Alberta most summers, training people and horses with her own Horsemanship from the Heart method is her main focus and passion.

.  Christa has learned from some amazing human mentors in Western and English riding as well as Horsemanship but attributes the majority of her learning to the horses themselves.  It is her goal to help the humans she works with to learn to allow their horses to teach them as well.
After more than 25 years with horses, Christa is still as passionate as ever, if not more so, when it comes to helping horses and humans. It is her belief that so-called "bad behavior" is often a result of miscommunication or accidentally learned behavior.  It is valuable information that can help us to understand what our horses need from us.

Through a set of guiding principles that she works within and teaches to her students, Christa addresses each horse, human and horse/human team as the individual or individuals they are.  In her experience, Christa has come to understand that, like people, no two horses are alike and that each must be worked with with that in mind.

Christa also trains in Tai Chi.  She uses many of the principles of Tai Chi in her horsemanship, such as staying centered and soft, balanced energy, desire to promote harmony and to avoid conflict, Conscientiousbreathing and the natural elements.  She finds that these principles work with the horses and people she works with just as well as they do in the Martal Art of Tai Chi.
Now an author and a clinician, Christa contunues to learn with and from the horses and from human mentors as well (including but not limmited to master horsemen such as Mark Rashid and Daryl Gibb) .  Though she feels there is still so much more left to learn, she  is also aware that what knowledge she has already acquired will help others.  Her goal is to facilitate horses and humans developing the same kind of relationships, based on trust, respect, compassion and fun that she has developed with so many of her own amazing equine teachers.

Through her deep understaning of equine behavior and psychology, gained over more than 25 years with horses, Christa develops safe, consistent and reliable boundaries, earning the respect and leadership needed to influence the horses she works with.  This helps them to find the quiet, calm and peaceful state of mind that will allow them to grow, learn and gain confidence.

Christa offers six public clinics a year at her family ranch Silver Star Stables, monthly Theory Nights, regular training and lesson programs for horse and rider, as well as consultations with your horse.  She also travels to private clinics and is available to work in collaboration with other clinicians.

If you would like more information on how to book Christa for a private clinic at your facility or would like to invite her to be a speaker or guest at an event you are putting on, please contact us for information.

"Jupiter and I took part in Christa's clinic on Fear Management, which changed our whole perspective. Christa helped me to recognize his forcefulness for what it actually was - intense anxiety. Recognizing his fear, acknowledging it, and then working within and gradually expanding his comfort zone, we came to a point where he felt so safe with me that on one walk together, he spooked and ran when a dog came running growling out of a driveway, but at the sound of my voice, he stopped, turned around, came back to me, and then walked back with me to the driveway where the dog was. He learned a LOT for a horse now in his 20s, and he (with Christa interpreting) taught me infinite amounts about strength and softness, that they only exist together."

"During Christa's workshop, I have learned to listen to my mare's need and to apply what she teaches me to my daily life; patience, trust, simplicity. Without Christa's help these are traits that I could have misinterpreted as misbehaviour when really my horse was just trying to tell me don't rush, stop confusing me or be more clear. I am learning to communicate and be a better partner to this amazing soul, and she as no clue that what she teaches me works wonder on the human kind as well.
Thanks for teaching me what I know now , I am so eager to learn what is coming and to keep sharing it."

"When Christa invited me to her new clinic, Riding with the Elements, I was excited and thought I would be in store for a fun weekend full of new ideas for me and my horse. What I didn't expect was to find a completely renewed confidence in my riding abilities and that elusive connection to my horse. A connection I had not been able to find with any of my horses in five years"

"I just attended the most impressive riding clinic I have ever been a part of. I feel privileged to have participated and learned so much about my horse, myself and our partnership. Christa Miremadi has the rare talent to not only have a deep understanding of horse behavior but also be such a gifted teacher and coach that she can translate it into words and images that work for each set of equine/ human partners. As a biologist, I appreciate her approach that centers on understanding how horses communicate and react. I learned that artificial aids can be effectively replaced with balance and clarity in your body and your horse will become lighter and more responsive."
